Aimpoint mount on lefty from Noob

I've built a left-handed AR with complete upper from Stag on a stripped JD lower. So while mounting an Aimpoint CompM2 in a LaRue LT-150 I realized that the ejector flap, which opens up instead of down on the left side of the gun, was going to smack into the locking lever and bolt which sticks out. It also prevents the flap from opening completely which is a concern. What I've done is reverse the mount so the locking mechanism is now on the right and out of the way. Can anyone see a downside to this option? Thanks in advance.

Not that I could think of. Or you could remove the dust cover assembly.

easy fix remove the pin and take the dust cover off it's a pain in the ___ anyway hard to do camber check with it on. I shoot a stag 2htl,I'm left handed I run a ap m3 w/larue with a ap 3xmag.w/ larue, I train at front sight been there in windy/sandy conditions never been a problem w/ no dust cover.
a few things you need to make your AR15 a lefty is a badger ambi charging handle w/latch on right side,a magpul B.A.D. and B.A.D. A.S.S. ambi safety switch then you will have a left handed AR 15 sootytom

Thanks for the tips. I have an ambi charging handle and wouldn't be without it. So you don't mind the BAD lever extension running through the trigger guard?
