Sights for Glocks

I am looking at Trijicon night sights for my G26 and I am wondering why the Trijicon Novak model fits all Glocks (other than the 36) where as the regular Trijicon night sights are broken down into small slide and large slide (again other than the 36). My assumption is that there is a different height rear sight for small and large slides so how does the Novak style work for both?
