Hi folks,
I'm specifically talking about for an AR15 carbine (franklin armory). I have a traditional 1.5-4x30mm scope coming in a day (sightmark tactical), which I plan to mount and hurry to the range for some fun.
I was debating going with the traditional scope like above, vs. getting a red-dot, something like an Eotech, etc., I obviously decided on a traditional because I like the idea of magnification.... was also skeptical of MOAs, and my eyes aren't the greatest to begin with...
How many of you guys went from one type, to the other, and never looked back?
My application is (I hope) only for range shooting and occasionally hunting (vs. in home defense).
I'm going to shoot from 50yds to possibly 200, which is the reason I decided to go with the traditional scope. I'm buying a small rifle for my son, so "if" I went the wrong route, I can put the 1.5 on his gun, and go "the other route."
Looking for all opinions. Appreciate if you can share the distance you're shooting, moa, and what type of scope you're using.
Thanks all,
Chib
