Trijicon nightsights quality better or same?

My Meprolight front sight on my XD40 has just gone out during some shooting, the white ring seems to actually have crumbled or melted.

I've read similar on Trijicon, but with Meprolight not responding to me I'm thinking about switching to Trijicons since the price to replace is the same, is this still an issue with theirs?

Thinking of going from all green to Orange rear and green front.

I don't have a solid answer, but I have Trijicons in a Glock 17 and a Beretta 92G that are both over 13 years old, 10's of thousands of rounds, and in perfect condition short of being a little dim.

Well I'm just about to order all new Trijicons I think, Meprolight won't respond or answer my questions, I've tried twice, If I'm going to have to buy another set and be ignored as well, then that money is going to another brand, Trijicon seems to be used more anyway.

Are the sights factory installed? If so maybe Springfield will replace it for you under their lifetime warranty. I mean, they put the sight on the gun and it is obviously defective if the white ring is crumbling or melting.

No, they were installed after purchasing the gun.

            Bummer.

I will say that the Mepro's on my Kimber are a lot brighter than the Trijicons that are on my glock, almost too bright. Also my front Mepro sight turned pink. It still glowed green, but in the daylight it was pink. I never did get an explanation to why it happened, but at least Kimber replaced it under warranty.

I have Trijicons on all my stuff, and they have replaced sights that were over 15 years old, no problem.

I will say this about Trijicon. I sold a new but unused set of their sights to a guy informing him they were about done. He sent them to Trijicon for lamp replacement and they were able to determine the sights were about 10 years old. Trijicons warranty is 12 years so they relamped them for free and refunded his money for lamp replacement. Thats great CS in my book.
