    scope for AR15 pistol?

I'd like to add a scope to an AR15 pistol. A rifle scope seems to have too short an eye relief while pistol scopes need to be held out almost at arms length. What scope are you using? Would a scout/IER scope work?

I'm also looking for suggestions on a scope that costs no more than $400 and has a magnification of at least 4X and no higher than 9X.

Me personally, I would mount a holographic sight on an AR pistol, something like an EOTech. The only reaon that I know of people putting scopes on pistols that have magnification (generally on TC encores and contenders) are for hunting with a pistol, most often chambered in a rifle caliber in states that don't allow hunting with rifles. Thats what a buddy of mine did back in NY, they didn't allow hunting with a rifle where he hunted so he bought a TC in .308 and used the pistol to hunt with, once they changed the laws and he could hunt with rifle he hasn't used the TC since.

But, if thats something you want to do, just browse around Cabelas optics section, theres a decent selection there.

I have the bushnell holographic sight and it's pretty good. A 4X ACOG would be nice, but it is outside my price range. This is why I started looking at low-powered scopes.

I finally decided on a C-More red dot for my "Cali-SBR" AR15 pistol.
The eye relief problem you mention was what I tried to deal with. Nothing worked for me, including a TA33. Eye relief issues...FK!
With the standard length pistol tube I could use it to get some support but I am using a GSE 4" buffer tube and that chin weld went out the door too.
C-More red dot works great for me.
          Good luck choosing.

check out primaryarms.com they have a variety of red dot sights, and then you can add a magnifier for longer distances. They also have a 1-4x scope that has good reviews.

I recommend the Insight MRDS with ADM mount.

                Great for AR pistols.

                3.5 moa adjustable red dot.
