    Illum. Reticule?

Alright after having my AR-15 for a while and using my Leupold Rifleman(wal-mart) 4-12 x40mm scope and hitting whatever I aim at up to 215 yards, I now want something that'll magnify further and offers an illuminated reticule. Any suggestions? I have a $2,000 budget.

I wouldn't include illuminated reticule in the requirement. If it has one, great... but most of the time when you purchase a good, high-quality scope, there is so much light getting through the scope that by the time you need a lighted reticule, you wont see the game anyway.

I would not discount a good scope simply because it does not have a lighted reticule.

I bought a illu scope and I never turn it on. I have not found it very helpful but I don't do a lot of low light shooting so maybe thats your application. I can't recommend anything over 10 power for an AR. I used a 16x for years and it was honestly to much for an AR and it should have stayed on my bench bolt gun.

If it was me holding 2K I'd go with a US optics too.

All Nightforce NSX models have illuminated reticle. Though you really won't need it unless you're shooting in darker conditons.

Shot the night match at desertmarksmen this weekend and actually shut off the lit reticle and found it to work better for me, haven't tried shooting at anything that was dark or didn't have a light on it.

Vortex Razor. It comes the closest to the $2K price budget without going over.

Well I will have some night applications which is why I specified illum. scope. That U.S. Optics looks like the ticket except for the only 10x mag.

Nightforce NXS. I have 2 on 50bmg and they are great. Go to the biggerhammer site and the 50bmg forum and look up Don. He will treat you right

Premier, Horus vission, Night Force, all very good optics, I have had a night force for several years and love it. I have used the illum. ret. for late varmint hunting and it works very well.
