Cabelas Scopes

So who makes these for Cabelas? Are they on par with the Nikon Pro-staff/Buckmaster , Leupold VX-1/VX-II?

And this one? I have a .35 rem who's old weaver or whatever got water in it last weekend and fogged up on me yesterday. Need to replace it with something similar.

As I recall, most of Cabelas' rifle scopes are designed by Kruger Optical, whose engineering headquarters is in Oregon. Good company, ex-Leupold employees, solid optical engineering. The scopes are manufactured in China, with quality control oversight by KO. These scopes should be comparable to similar priced scopes also made in China, maybe a tad better.

Ah...made in China...thus supporting the Chinese Communist Government. Nah, I'll pass. Nikon ProStaffs are on sale at Cabela's anyway, and Japan's government ain't Commie.

I would definitely go with the Nikons over the Cabelas brand scopes. The Buckmasters are really nice for the money.

Got one a while back and sent it back. The glass was really bad! I would go with Nikon or a Leupold.
