I bought my brand new Glock 17 with TRUGLO night sights from and installed by LC Action in July 2010. Today I noticed the front sight *not the mount, only the green tube* sticking out about 1-2 cm. I can push it back in the mount but when a round goes it, the recoil pushes it out again. Secondly, the mount on the REAR sights are mis-aligned. It was mounted more toward the left side of the rail. I'm going back to LC Action to see if they will repair the front and readjust the rear under warranty. I wanted to see if anyone else has encountered this problem with night sights in general or this particular brand? What can I do if the store denies any service or replacement when I bring up this issue? Is it fine to glue the front sight back into the mounting hardware?

TRUGLO night sight falling off?
Tags: None -
Lot of people see this happening. The fix is supposedly a little clear nail polish on the element. Doesn't affect light transmission, and will hold it in.Comment

Yea, what I don't like about truglo sights is that the fiber optic is essentially press fit in. I've got a set of dawson precisions, and you need to melt the ends so they lock into the sightComment

I've seen those fiber optic bars snap and break a lot, not just fall out. They are way too fragile for a duty weapon or daily shooter. Tritium is a much better option than fiber optic.Comment

I have a set of Trijicon Night Sights on my M&P9C the Front sight did the same thing...
It's just wear and tear sometimes. I shoot my gun alot so i expect things to get worn out but i just never thought it could be a front sight.
Just call the manufactures and they will send you a new one.
If this happens again. STOP STARING AT THE FRONT SIGHT SO HARD when you shoot YOUR SCARING it away.

Apparently the screws that hold the sights down was longer than called for, thus causing improper fitment. LC Action was very helpful and replaced the front and re-aligned the rear at no cost. They added loctite as an preventative measure. I put little under 1k rounds for reference.Comment

the TRUGLO sight sets are not known for their rugged build quality. the rods will come loose of break and fall out, the bases are too soft to maintain their hold in the dovetails....because the journey is the worthier part...The Shepherd's TaleComment
