Help with rings.

I went out to shoot my Marlin 795 this afternoon and the scope rings moves to the rear. Screws are tight, in fact it leaves a deep scratch on the rail.

Rings are similar to these.

Rings are junk my friend. There are much better rimfire (5/8 Dovetail) style rings else where. Also, there are converters/risers from 5/8 dovetail to weaver/picatinny and are cool to have and allow purchasing, generally, much sturdier rings

How would you keep it from moving? Loctite the rails?

This VVVVV....I'd even feel dirty putting the ones in your pic, on an airgun

Get a good set of rings and a little blue locktite (if needed). I've have actually been able to set my rear ring all the way back (3/8 dovetail), so the end of the dovetail acts as a stop. You may or may not be able to do that, depending on your desired eye relief\set up.
