Hi All,
First time poster and first time firearm owner. I just purchased a Sig Sauer 522 swat. I'm now looking for a low-end scope. It's only for recreation and not hunting. I have a parallax question which I cannot find through a search or on the web. I understand the effect of parallax. My question is with a parallax 50 yard free scope, will it have a worse time adjusting for a target further out (100 Yards) compared to a parallax 100 yard free scope that will be adjusting for a target further in (50 yards).
I'm considering a 3-12x50 IR huntmaster Barska scope that's parallax free at 100 yards for $56 which got very good reviews (I know people hate Barska). My friend is considering a 3-9x40 Bushnell thats parallax free at 50 yards. We are both new and are kind of clueless as to what's better. I didn't realize how close 100 yards is so that's why I rather have more magnification than not. But heard people usually only shoot at 50 yards which seems ultra close.
Thanks for your time!
