    Night vision question

I can't find any info about this......

How much this is worth ?

Vietnam era night vision rifle scope. It does work, but is nothing to be amazed about. The technology for night vision back then wasn't too great. I have never tried the IR illuminater because the battery that comes with it needs to be charged (I do have the battery tho). It should work just fine as it is in great condition.
    It comes with:
    The scope
    IR illuminater lamp
    1 stanag type mount
    2 spare IR bulbs
    2 other small spare bulbs
    A few spare C batteries
The big orange rechargeable battery for the IR light
A few cords and misc pieces for everything
    Some tools
A complete original users guide/parts diagram
And the heavy duty pressure sealed case

According to the parts guide I have everything that was originally issued minus one allen wrench and a green canvas cover for the ir battery.

        +1

Comparing today's night vision technology with this relic is like comparing a Ferrari to a Model T.

In the link you provide, it appears that the system has not been turned on for a couple years. Some night vision devices require periodic operation, or else they "burn out." I don't know if this requirement applies to NV fossils, but it's worth checking into. I don't think I'm going out on a limb when I say that $2495 seems very steep.

              Agreed.

Back in 2000, my friend worked for a gun shop in the NW that carried 3rd Gen Night Vision gear for LE. Those were American made and going for $2500 each. This Vietnam era stuff is not worth nearly that much as tactical gear.

However, it's possibly collectors or Vietnam reenactment enthusiasts might buy it. But as a historic reenactor myself, I can't see anyone in that community willing to spend more than $300 for it. And that's a very generous assumption on my part.
