    4moa vs 2moa?

I am going to buy a primary arms red dot, please no thread crapping about how I need a real one because I need to kill thousands of undead and can't afford the reliability issues. If I could afford the real deal i would get one.

What is the diff in size between the m3's and micro 4moa dot and the m4 2moa dot?

    Thanks fellas.

The 2MOA will cover 2" of the target at 100 yards and the 4MOA will cover 4" of the target. That means IF you ever shoot past that like say....200 yards, it'll be 4" with the 2MOA and 8" for the 4MOA and so forth...The 2" will be more precise basically.

Think about the difference in area between two circles, one with a radius of 2 and the other has a radius of 4. That is a big difference. But, to simplify it, a 2moa dot will cover about a 2" circle at 100 yards and a 4moa dot will cover a 4" circle. Personally, niether one is acceptable to me on most guns but, I'm looking precission not just accuracy. If you are just woried about hitting targets bigger than 4" at 100 yards, 8" at 200 yards, etc., either the 2moa or 4moa will do. If you are at all worried about hitting anything smaller than that, get a decent scope instead of an aim point type sight.

Thank you guys. I have a scoped rifle and this AR I wanted to be a red dot rifle as I have never owned a red dot before. But since money is very tight right now, primary arms is the way for me.

The idea that a larger dot = larger groups is a persistent myth.

Precision Shooting With an Aimpoint: Range ReportFirst and foremost, the Aimpoint red dot sight is a combat sight. Its primary purpose is for use in situations that require “reflexive shooting” at m

You can shoot small groups with a 4 MOA red dot sight but as csacannoneer pointed out, if you want to shoot at tiny targets you should get a scope. Red dot sights are ideal for center-mass shots on man-sized targets but not for shooting at tiny targets.

Yes, it is a myth. I have a 2moa cross hair tac scope on one of my rifles and I can shoot 1" consistently. The 2/4moa is just what it covers at 100 yards.
