    Scope for my SKS?

I am having a hard time finding a scope for my SKS.It needs to be short enough to still use stripper clips.Regular cross hairs are preferred.Any suggestion on one that wont break the bank? For like 200 yds or so?

I'm speaking from experience. Don't waste your time putting optics on a SKS. Specially if you are using a receiver cover scope mount. They will not hold a decent zero. The only reason I haven't offered to sell the ones that I have is that I would feel guilty selling something that does not work. That said, somewhere around here, I have a cheap scope that did do what you are asking. I'm goin to be cleaning up and going through boxes for the next month or so. If I find it, I'll give it to you. Right now, I could not tell you a make or model though.

I know a couple of guys with PSOP scopes on their SKSs. They are great scopes and mount correctly to an SKS with a few modifications.

Thanks but those interfere with the stripper clips and aren't cheap.

good luck with extra cheap, worth using, and not interfering with stripper clips.

Abandon all hope on using stripper clips with a scope. PSOP is the way to go. You can get cheap mounts for your SKS that wont hold up and you'll probably end up spending more in time, aggravation, and repairs than you would loading by hand with a nice PSOP. Sure they're a bit more expensive but you get what you pay for. You also have the added bonus of being able to mount that sucker to an AK or PSL should you so choose later. In any event good luck with the search.
