quality variable power scope in $200-400 range?

Looking to get a variable power scope on the ACR.

What would your recommendations be in the $200-400 price range?

Type of reticle isn't really a big deal.

I was reading around and people seem to like the Bushnell Elite 4200 3-9x 40

Can anyone comment on this scope?

or how about the Leupold Mark AR 3-9x?

You cannot go wrong with Nikkon.

I have two scopes and I am very impressed with them; excellent for the money.

          1P21?
Can't imagine a western scope that's that cheap but I don't know much about scopes.

I have had a few.... I like all of them. For the money, they cannot be beaten... and I have one on my .308 M1A; it holds 0 very well.

I just ordered a Bushnell Elite 4200 3-9x40 should be here by the end of the week.

Liberty Optics has some great prices, I have ordered from them before.

I've heard good thing about the "new" Redfield line. Great reviews on Opticsplanet and Cabelas.

A few months ago, I was very interested in the new Redfield line. Made in America, backed by Leupold...sounds great. But then I started to read about some good and some not-so-good user experiences with them. I recommend you check out Ilya's review of inexpensive scopes, which includes the Redfield Revolution. If you don't know who Ilya Lushkin is, just trust in the fact that this guy knows optics.

I wouldn't put too much trust in the reviews you see on dealer sites. Check out the reviews for Countersniper scopes on Midway and Sportsman's Guide. They contain good reviews for a scope that is of unabashedly poor quality.

Cool thanks for that link. For the $$$ it seems like a good value. I didn't expect it to outshine any other brand but for the $$$ it seems hard to beat.

Nikon Buckmaster all the way... Comparable to Leupold in quality. Spend a bit more and never look back.

haha. Funny how everyone is telling me to call Liberty Optics when I am a dealer myself.

                          Thanks for the suggestions guys.

haha so if you are a dealer you should be able to see for yourself.

Nikon (monarch, buckmaster) and Burris (I like the fullfield II) are both great entry level scopes (ie cheap) with awesome glass. For your price range, best value and performance.
