need help finding a low priced holder for this sight.

My friend gave me this sight it has no writing on it except that it says 3-9 x 40, but he was in the army and it looks great. He did not have anything to hold it. I would like something that will go on a picatinny rail. Any ideas? I'm not looking to spend a ton of money but want something that will hold a zero on an AR or SKS.

    Here is the scope

I doubt it would work very good on an SKS. It is too long. You may not be able to load the gun from stripper clips with the scope over the bolt area. If your SKS has a detachable mag, then it could work.

If you have an AR with a flat top rail, you could get Weaver high scope rings at WalMart for about $10. If you have the old style handle, you will need to find a scope mount.

Looks like a Leatherwood ART M-600 scope. If it is, they take a specialized base that adjusts for elevation as the mag ring is turned. Is this the scope you have?:

If so, you may be able to contact Leatherwood Optics to see about getting the base assembly for it:

Hi-Lux Optics manufactures precision optics for tactical, hunting and vintage rifles. Leatherwood and Wm. Malcolm scopes are manufactured by Hi-Lux. Whether you're looking for a red dot, first focal plane long range, hunting, rifle telescope binocular or spotting scope, we've got you covered.
