understanding adjustment range on zeiss scope

I have a zeiss conquest scope, the manual says it has 64" adjustment range at 100 yards-- so is that 32" above and below horizontal and 32" right and left of center vertical? I assume so this is all the manual says other than 1/4" per clik at 100 yards. So then would this extrapolate to double these figures at 200 Yards triple at 300 yards? I'll call zeiss Monday

awesome so this means 128" of vertical compensation at 200 yards, as set up I should have no problem getting out to 700 yards with a 64" trajectory drop. (per the ballistics software)
That is if I understand this correctly, I wouldn't think any modern scope wouldn't have at least 700 yard capability with standard mounts. A mile different story I am sure.

You have ~64.1 square inches of adjustment @100 yards.

That means 4" up, 4" down, 4" left, and 4" right.

4 inches up plus 4 inches down is 8 inches vertical adjustment.

4 inches left plus 4 inches right is 8 inches horizontal adjustment.

8 inches vertical adjustment times 8 inches horizontal adjustment = 64 square inches total adjustment.

The Conquest is not a long range scope. It has a fixed parallax set @ 100 yards. Don't expect it to work great past 300 yards. Tactical/Sniper scopes have 30mm tubes and parallax adjustments for use at long ranges. 30mm tubes gives more vertical and horizontal adjustments. I doubt the Conquest will work out to 700 yards.

            Hunt,

Sorry about the bad info. I run nightforce scopes and they have 100" of vertical travel. I did not look up the specs on your particular scope. It sound like Marlin did and is familiar with your system. Marlin, thanks for making it right.

              Conquest does what it claims

Marlin Hunter, the Conquest is not a Nightforce long range scope for sure, but the scope performs incredibly well when used properly. Matching your caliber and load to the scope and Rz 600, 800, 1000 or varmint reticle is critical. Watch the link I have attached and you will see real life. No messing with adjustment, simply range, aim, fire. You still have to use the shooting skills required to make a shot like this. And yes, this shot was 676 yes

Sorry, didn't know how to make that an actual hyperlink, but copy and paste it.

What you have is an MOA scope. It's likely to have 32 sMOA up, 32 down sMOA if the range is 64" and the click values are 0.25" at 100 yards if you are aligned right along the scope's axis. However, the scope sits higher than the bore of the rifle, so you lose a little elevation when you mount it above your scope. You should zero it. Then count the number of clicks up and the number of clicks down. That will tell you how much travel you have. However, the amount of horizontal adjustment will more than likely disappate, with no horizontal adjustment at the extrema. Hence, you may want a mount that is canted. ~20 MOA is typical for 60-70 TIA scopes.

Zeiss does not make the best riflescopes as it isn't there main business; however, their glass is the very best you can get.
