Looking for a compact scope for my AR that isn't garbage

Does anyone make a compact scope for AR's that isn't a piece of junk? I'm looking for a decent scope for my Stag 2T that won't end up in the trash, break the bank or look ridiculous because it looks too big on my compact rifle.

I was considering these two but they're a little longer than I'd like....

Both are good in the price range but add the new Nikon 223 1-4x and if you can spare a little more coin The trijicon TR-24. Then decide illuminated reticle vs non.and it may be worth while to get a true or close to true 1x vs the leupy

I checked the specs. of those two scopes and they're both around 10" long. I was hoping for something with a shorter over all length.

Well i guess you need the leupold then it appears to be the shortest 1-4x i have seen at 9.2in.If you want shorter you should look into an Aimpoint or ACOG.But fyi none of these 1-4x scopes look "Ridiculous" on a 16" ar or even an SBR for that matter IMHO.

ACOG. Very short, definitely not a piece of junk. Under a thousand.

Good choice with good eye relief vs the TA31 .Should fit your needs nicely .From your post i did not think you were looking for an ACOG..Not cheap and not in the same league as the 2 scopes you listed.

It was more than I initially wanted to spend. The compact, low cost scope I was hoping for just didn't exist. I was hoping there was a modern day, high quality equivalent of the old 4x Colt scopes but I just couldn't find one. All the conventional tube scopes just looked too large in my eyes for my little 2T.

Basically the more I thought about it the more I realized it was the best choice for what I wanted.

3-4x magnification, a compact size and decent quality. The lighted reticle without a need for batteries was a very strong plus as well.

That isn't garbage? Just avoid the fake stuff they sell here.

Did you consider the Trijicon TR24? These are really nice.

ACOGs are great too! I'm sure you won't regret your choice.

I wanted a shorter over all length (as funny as that sounds) I just didn't like the look of a long scope on a short rifle (this is going on a Stag 2T).

The ACOG that I ordered is around 6" long and all the tube scopes are around 10".

If I was putting this on a rifle instead of a carbine I'd be more inclined to go with a longer scope.

How much did it set you back?
