laser question

I just built a AR15 pistol. It is practical for just about nothing I know, but its kind of cool. I was looking to put one of those green lasers on it, they are supposed to be good in the daylight, I have been looking, and they are anywhere from $50.00 to over $500.00 . I have no idea what makes one any better than the other. I know a $500.00 one should be better than a cheaper one, but why? I am not looking for the best one out there, just something that works good enough to shoot with, i shoot at a private range, in the woods. The red laser on my AR rifle works good in low light, but i need something to work in the daylight. The pistol is cool, but you cant shoot it like a pistol very well, so i was going to mount the laser to the bayo lug on the bottom so i could shoot from any position. Any thoughts on what would be good without spending to much??? thanks....Jeff

My son has a green laser pen that is really bright at all times. He can light a match with it if he holds it close and steady for a little while. This one is rated for 10 mile visibility

I can only imagine what the blue lasers can do they are 50 mile rated.

He's got a good reputation on his other stuff, and I've bought a few things from him with no problems. You can buy stuff that looks just like his on ebay cheaper, but whether it's the same, I don't know.

I haven't seen much feedback on his green lasers, but here are some reviews on a few green lasers. Sounds like the bottom-feeder (sub-$100) ebay lasers are pretty risky:

It shows out of stock on his webb site, but lots of good info there, thanks. I may wait a couple weeks for the Knob Creek machine gun shoot in Ky. maybe be able to find something there. I was looking for info on how they were made and stuff, looks like most of it is on AR15.com, good link. I am going to shoot the thing tomorrow, should be loud and a big fireball. it is .223 with a 7 1/2" barrel. Thanks..

Like Tweak suggested, you're pretty much paying for how much power or mW the laser has. More power equals more burning capability and more brightness. Be careful with those green ones though, they can be dangerous, to your eyes, if you don't know what you're doing. I'm pretty sure they give you safety glasses with each laser, or maybe you buy them separately. I didn't read through much of that website.
