scope rehab

For nostalgia reasons, I picked up a Pan Technics 6x scope to mount on an older .22. These scopes were made in San Diego (Solana Beach) in the 60s and the optics must be fair as the company also made lab microscopes. So the thing is pretty dirty and I dont know how to clean it... anyone in the San Diego area do this sort of thing? I can clean the eyepiece end but the "far end" is pretty dirty on the inside and I dont need to ruin the thing trying to figure it out. Help...
