    What size rings...

I just picked up a Leupold riflemen 4-12x40mm scope and wanted to know is that a decent scope to shoot at least 300yards? And what size rings should i get? I rather stay on the Leupold side, maybe quick release also. What is recommended?

Ring size is determined by your scope's tube diameter, so check your scope. Ring height is detemined by your rifle and your preference. I.e. nobody can help you there unfortunately.

As for being good enough to shoot to 300 yards... that depends on your target and your shooting style. So again nobody can help you.

But maybe this is of use to you. I've not shot w/ any scope < 20x for a while, so I don't remember how a 12x looks like. With a 20x, it is pretty easy to target 1" circels at 100 yards... so if you are shooting 2" at 100 yards, 12x should be fine. At 300 yards, then 6" targets should be good. Another way to think of it is your dot size, if it is 1/4 moa, then it covers approx 1/4" at 100 yards, then you can get a feel for how far/small you can aim.

Your ring size for the Leupold rifleman will be 1"
