Magnifier for Aimpoint....

I just don't see myself spending $500 for a Aimpoint magnifier.

Anyone have one of the clones who can comment on them? Does the height line up with a Aimpoint when setup for a 1/3 cowitness? How sturdy are they?

I'm probably going to get a Aimpoint M4 real soon and considering a 3x magnifier.

I felt the same. I bought a clone magnifier from primaryarms.com. It's pretty good and does the job. I bought a Larue mount and the 3rd Generation Magnifiers will let you adjust the dot to the center of the magnifier.

will that magnifier fit behind a Aimpoint M4 with a Magpul MBUS installed?

Don't know about that email Marshall about it. He'll get back to you if it will fit or not. I'm running a ARMS #40L rear sight and it fits. I know the MBUS is taller so you might have to run your M4 cowitness to make it over.

They got back to me today. Here is what they told me for anyone else who may be interested

my COMP M4 will 1/3 cowitness fine with the FTS mount.

since I run a MBUS, I must use either the Gen2 3x or 5x magnifier. The Gen3 3x magnifier will not clear the MBUS

You need a continuous rail if you plan on using the COMP M4 with the 5x magnifier (This is the route I went)

that sounds about right. I'm running an Eotech XPS so I wouldn't know.

got it today. very fast shipping from them.

feels real nice. mount is pretty sturdy. glass looks good.

my Aimpoint will be here tomorrow and Sat it's out for a range test. will post a range review for anyone interested

Very interested to see a detailed range report.

Loved the magnifier setups I saw at SHOT Show at the Aimpoint booth, but I know I'm just getting raped on a $400 magnifier without a darn FTS mount.

PA makes an attractive package (at least for my wallet), just curious to see how it works before making the leap.
