    99cent Store Scope Level

I picked up a Center Point 4-16x40mm scope at Wal-Mart to toss on my TacSol AR22 upper. I then realized I had to level the darned thing. It just so happen that the wife made me take her to the 99cent Only Store earlier that week and I remember seeing some levels in their awesome tool section. I wanted to get this done quickly so I went back and picked up the following level:

What was nice about this level was that it only cost $1.07 and I could remove the little level vials and place them at various points on my rifle. It also came with a companion string level; this also came in handy.

I went ahead and put the rifle in the vise and proceeded to check the level at multiple points of the scope and rifle.

I then used some other levels to check the level of the crosshairs.(i found it hard to get a good pic of this)

What is nice about this Center Point Scope is that is focuses down to 5 yards. That happened to be perfect for this check. This is not a professional job, but it gets you in the ballpark much better than eyeballing it.

Anyhow, with this combo a even 5 year old can take out tangerines with ease:

    Hope this helped someone somewhere.

Thanks for the review. I passed this up thinking the whole thing is too bulky. Now you showed us the vials are removable.

Looks that way. I just picked up the same level from the local 99cents store. I am in the process of removing vials as we speak. Purchase was a direct result of this thread.

        Thanks.

That it is. I had to add some shims while setting up things in the vise.

Cool. I hope it works for you too. It beats spending 20-30 bucks online plus shipping and handling plus the wait. Though, some can find reasons to object.

IMHO: Feeler Gauge(s) work best for me. Shim the difference between the top of the rail, this case your mount, & the flat bottom of the scope elev. housing.

Good idea. I'll have to break out my gauges.

When I was looking at scope levels online I saw multiple bubble-style levels. I figured I would give it a try.
