    Mini-14 Target Model Optics Help

I just picked up a Mini-14 Target Model and I'd like some recommendations on optics. I'm looking at target shooting at 50 - 200 yards. My price range is $150 or so. I'm looking at BSA Tactical Mil-Dot Rifle Scope but im afraid that its a bit too much for the ranges i'm looking shooting.

I'm new to scopes so thanks for your help in advance.

Check out this thread for more info.

The scope that you're referring to seems like a great deal for the money.

I went with a Leupold Mark AR scope, 3-9x40 (P/N 67165) for my NRA-edition Mini-14 using the factory supplied rings (P/N 5B). No issues with clearance anywhere and plenty of eye relief. I bought it just before the holidays through Optics Planet and it was $299.00 shipped.

I've put about 300 rounds through this setup thus far and the only issue that I've encountered was with the rear ring mounting bolt loosening up after 100 rounds or so. I put some Blue Loctite threadlocker on the bolt and it seems to have fixed the issue.

I love absolutely this scope and setup (I shoot mainly at 50 yards with this setup)

ive got a rail laying around somewhere for when I had a target. I used a NCstar on that rifle and worked fine. Cheap scope, but actually performed well

Mini 14's are pretty hard on scopes. I would install recoil buffers front and rear. To ease the op rod slap. Then buy a good scope, I have a Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40 on my Mini, 800 rounds down range, and I have had zero problems. With factory med rings.

Thanks for the help. What do you think about Konus or Weaver scopes? Or should i just invest in a Leopold?
