And 2 MOA red dot micro sights?

    Hi:

I just looked over at www.aimpoint.com at the Micro H-1 and T-1 sights, which seem perfect for use with my Ruger MkIII pistol. Trouble is, they are 4 MOA, and I'd really prefer to use a 2 MOA.

Any other 2 MOA micro sights out there?

What's the difference to you.... 2 vs 4 MOA?

    Not really....

I'm a 4MOA guy myself. Just as you can turn up the intensity on the 2MOA dots to make it seem larger, you can turn down the 4MOA dot to make it seem smaller when zeroing, etc. And as stated above at pistol type ranges you'd be hard pressed to notice a difference.

Interesting info. Thanks. Now I just need to figure out if there is a model that will work well with both an AR and pistol. Or if I should look at non-Aimpoint manufacturers to save $$$. This could take weeks...

I run a T1 on my AK on an ultimak rail. An H1 would work as well but in the grand scheme of things the $ savings just isn't that much. Moving one sight back and forth between 2 guns could be a real pain. Larue tactical sells the T1 or H1 with an integrated mount for an AR here: http://stores.homestead.com/Laruetac...ail.bok?no=149

I'd go with an Aimpoint on the AR and maybe a cheaper knockoff of the pistol if it is just a plinker gun. The T1 is very rugged and has outstanding battery life. At my last carbine class the instructor had one in a larue mount, took it off the gun and threw it across the room and re-mounted it...lol. He also dropped the entire gun upside down so it landed on the sight. Another T1 in the class did have an issue - it was raining hard and moisture got in his T1, causing condensation to form. The sight still worked though. One thing I can say is if you have any problems aimpoint will take care of you. One minor complaint is the adjustment caps are not tethered to the unit like other aimpoints, and they have 2 little prongs on them to fit into the adjustment knobs so don't lose them.

              Thanks for the input.

Actually I'm considering an Eotech for the AR and a micro Aimpoint for the pistol. But I think before I spend the dough for those, I will get a <$200 handgun scope for the Ruger MkIII. Once I know the ultimate accuracy I'll choose between a cheap knock-off dot or the real deal.
