Has anyone had experience with the newly designed RRA Hi-Rise 1" mount? I'm looking into using one on my flat top build w/ 6X24X50 scope. It looks to be pretty good and cost effective, Any guidance will be appreciated!

RRA One Piece Mount

I'm in a similar situation with one of my builds. Afters hours of research, I think I have the answer.
A RRA Hi Rise 1'' mount will clear a 50mm objective lens. The problem with the Hi Rise is that it will take up most of the upper. If you mount it more forward, there will be room for BUIS.
I haven't been hanging around much lately - work gets in the way - but have updated some info on the Big List of one-piece mounts.Main page:Big List of AR15 One-Piece MountsI've added the DNZ Freedom
An alternative would be the Burris AR-PEPR. -
I have one, its ok. Its cheap and works but I also have a larue mount and the two are not even close as far as quality. For the rock river mount I had to loctite all the screws and the rail mount to keep it from coming loose. I think its a little high and due to that is hard to get a good check weld.Comment

Well, I have an idea of what this is going on
and if you're going there, buy it from: http://www.pkfirearms.com/content/1/20/110/149?page=9
I think I already told you this but PEPR is what I have used in the past with great luck. If I could do it all over again I'd get an American Defense mount with QD latches and save a few pennies for it, but it'll cost more than the scope you're putting in it.Comment
