    Suffering from Opticus Indecicevnus!!

You ever get where you just can't decide what optics you're going to buy? I'm there. Last piece of my POF/Fulton 308 with 18.5" CL barrel. Idea has been that it would be be for both CQ and extended range purposes.

My biggest hangup is the tade off's in low and high magnifications. Do I stick with 1x for CQ applications and give up some high range or go with with 1.5x or 2.5x and get more on the high range?

I've been popping back and forth between the Leupold CQ/T, Mark 4 1.5x5 and the BUrris XTR 1.5x6. And now to make it worse I found a NIghtforce dealer advertising 0% for 12 months, so now looking at their 1x and 2.5x NSX models.

And to make it even worse I have to have this by next weekend. Please, someone slap some sense into me!!!!

    No.

People often get stuck because they feel like they're locked into whatever they buy. The good news is, you're not locked in. You can always sell your scope for a few bucks less than you paid for it. So go ahead and just pick something, and if you don't like it simply sell it and buy something else.

You will lose a few bucks on the used scope but that's the cost of experience. Compared to what we all spend on ammo, it's peanuts anyway.

I would look into a 1.5-5 because the likely hood that you will ever need it for CQB is about zip to zip. The MK IV, MK II or the MK AR would be a good choice.

        my $.02

no single scope will do everything...so consider having multiple optics for one upper

ie...eotech for short, quick stuff ..a 1+ x 4 short scope for medium and a 2.5 x 10 for long stuff...and all with quick release rings. short, medium and long distance is subjective based upon your comfort level...and target intended.

I love my Burris XTR 1-4 for the 223.
No illumination in bright light. But low light is is great.
          LOVE the BDC in mine.
If they would just make it in 1-6 for the 223.
If you can't shoot good, at least look good shooting
