what bases & rings for a kimber rifle?

I just purchased a Kimber 8400 rifle chambered in .270 Win.

I finally decided to go with a Leupold FX-3 fixed powered scope with a 6=power magnification. The scope has a 42mm objective lens.

I was asked from a scope dealer what type of rings/bases I wanted:

"There are STD, dual dovetail, and QR mounts for the Kimber."

I have no clue what the differences are and have't had much luck searching the interweb.

Any insight or info on the matter would be much appreciated.

    Thanks fellas.

I like dual dovetail rings and bases personally. The standard has a windage screw for the rear rings. DD offer no windage adjustment, but they seem much more sturdy. QR is just quick release.

I'd take dual dovetail for a hunting gun.

Of the three, I'd take the dtail.
