I've had many in the past. Their plenty serviceable and have their place as a mid level type of scope. There are better scopes out there, but you could of done a heck of a lot worse.

well depends on how much he paid for it.

Redfield is now owned by Leupold. The bad part is all their scopes use to come with a lifetime warranty. When Meade bought them out they would still honor the warranty but now with a second resale of the line nobody will honor it.

i paid $450 for a remington 700 with a bipod and the scope. So i paid little or nothing for it. I found an old price list and it used to go for around 550-600. problem is, theres NO info out there that I can find!

same with many other scope repair sites. Their costs are high though. $38 just to cover return shipping and this:
ABO (USA) repair policy does not cover the parts, defects caused by abuse, improper handling, negligence, misuse, alteration, wear and tear, unauthorized repairs or modifications. You will be advised of the additional cost prior to any repair.
This is not warranty repair, it is just like any other scope repair service. Iron Sight Inc which does redfield scope warranty repair when Meade owned it use to do it for free. Their charge now is still cheaper than ABO.
