Opinion, reviews, experiences on 2X Optics

I need some help. I've got a 1X cheap reddot on my AR, and its has been pretty darn good on accuracy and holding it. I'm finding that non-magnification for 3Gun is a little challenging. It is great for up close, but at 200 yards out, it becomes a bit too time (and ammo) consuming. What I'm soliciting for here is opinions on what might be the biggest bang for buck optic setup for the up close to the 200 yardish shots. My thought is a 2X might do the trick due to up close is still part for the 3Gun game and still give some magnification for a little reaching out.

A 1 to 4 veriable is a good starting point. Depends on your budget. I don't know where you shoot but if you're in So Cal you're shooting 360 yards on a 9" plate.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

Is there a variable magnification in red dot type format?

I generally shoot 3Gun at WEGC.

Have you considered looking at the Leupold Mark 4 CQ/T?
