One reason I got the ACOG is so that I could learn to shoot with both eyes open (plus have some magnification), so sometimes I practice with the scope’s front lens covered so I get the red triangle in my right eye, see the target with the left. My problem is when I do that, I’m shooting about 3 feet to the left of my target at 100yds.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Edit:
I'm a right handed shooter who is right eye dominant.

I don't think you're doing anything wrong...when you sight with your non-dominant eye you will "off" in that direction (Left-eye non-dominant, hit to the left/Right-eye non-dominant, hit to the right)

I'm left-handed and left-eye dominant and if I try to use my right-eye to align on target, I hit to the right (the opposite of what you're experiencing).

Not sure if this answers your question...

You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.
    Come on...what harm??

Now we know we are normal. That may not be news for you but I was feeling weird about it.

So, then is this BAC just a marketing gimic or does it really work for other people?

If you read the posts, the degree varies person to person but the POA/POI difference is always there. There is no perfect optic. They all have some compromises.

If you get accustomed your eye will begin to focus on what it sees within the tube for moderate distances (25-100yds). I find I start to close my eyes if it's far, to focus more on the reticle.

Without looking through the tube, you're only good for very short distances.

I'm pretty sure BAC was never meant to include 100 yard shooting. It works to get you in the ballpark quickly for long ranges and then your eye shifts to the magnified view for the shot, or for fast & close shooting 25 yards and in.

                    Cool post.

It answers a question, I never knew needed answering.
I think it can be confirmed that an alien xenomorph is absolutely no match for good ole' Alabama black snake!

That's why I decided to purchase the TA31DOC. So there is no confusion when using the Bindon system for CQB. Not a good idea to use the Bindon on far targets.
But while shooting far targets I can use both eyes as well. Just takes practice.
