Removing bottom sling loop

I'm looking to remove the bottom sling loop from my FSB, as seen in this image (not mine);


Seen here, is a pic I snapped of it;


It's not a standard roll pin. It doesn't seem to budge as I try and bang it out with a punch and hammer. What type of fastener is this, and what would be the best method of taking it out?

Really? There's no other less-than-permanent way to remove it?

It's a rivet and the only way to remove it is to dremel it off. If at some point you want to replace it, you can get a rivet and do so.

i would drill it out.

Why is it bothering you to begin with?

it's a loose piece (rattles and such) that I'd rather not have on there. I have a QD push button DD mount for my sling.
