    Red dot cover automatic removal

Red dots are new to me and I?d like to keep RMR covered until I need the firearm. I?ve put together a system where upon a draw from a chest holster, the cover automatically pops off.
It looks hokey but it works. Anyone know if a company has actually come up with a good solution?
I sent some pictures to Invader Concepts in hope they could take the design and run with it.

Why are you wanting to keep it covered? Is this for an outdoors situation or do you regularly carry from a chest holster?

      A) Why
      B) Safariland, but it's commonly removed
      C) It's 2024, buy a closed emitter optic

The RMR is the one optic I would not worry about babying. You are fine. Your RMR will be fine. Introducing something like this only increases your chances of failure when drawing or being able to use your red dot after drawing. The way I am imagining this system working is there is a leash/cord attached to it which will increase your chances of an ND when it finds its way into your trigger guard.

Like tradecraft stated, my Safariland holsters have this, but I removed them.
