Why are there no independent reviews for the Meprolight M22?

The M22 is the successor to the venerable M21 red dot sight as used by the IDF.

It costs a couple of bucks more than the M21 and seems to not have the washout factor, but it is really hard to tell, as there are absolutely no independent reviews for the M22 on YouTube.

The thing has been out since November as far as I know. How has this not been reviewed?

All I have seen is a movie-like trailer for it.

Looking for something foolproof for my wife's AR in the $400-$500 range. Most likely use case is low light home defense.

Probably because (my unverified opinion, dont sue me) meprolight only sent them out to approved brand reps and partners. I really want to get one and review it. But 450 bucks.. phew...

That?s crazy. You?d think they would want the word to get out.

I don?t understand meprolight as a company. I believe they are quasi state owned and somehow affiliated with IWI. I?ve also heard conflicting information that they are public.

They have several different CQB optics around, but I only really see the M5(RDS pro) on actual IDF pictures.

Very few online reviews on any of their products besides the M21.

Do they want to sell to civilians? Why even make them commercially available?

      $450 doesn?t sound bad for a poor man?s ACOG.

I?m going to take a chance and get one, even though there isn?t squat about it. Main reason is it isn?t junk tier, isn?t junk tier from China, and most importantly, it?s supposed to be lightweight, important to my wife.

In my case I have plenty of Eotechs, I would like to try something different. The battery free design is attractive. We will see how it goes..
