    Maven Optics

Anybody have experience with Maven Optics. From what I gather, they are a relatively new optical company based in Lander, Wyoming that utilizes high quality Japanese lens and sells direct to the consumer with no middle man/retailer. I'm considering the purchase one of their rifle scopes but before I do, like to know what others have to say about this company.

I have Maven B-series binoculars, excellent glass quality. No experience with their riflescopes.

Amazon has a sale. Every review I've read (scope or bino) has been good. Assembled in Japan, and at that price point, seemed like a win so I ordered two.

Look under "Highlights", it says assembled in Japan.

                    Their own site contradicts itself.

                    This is under FAQ:
the C Series are assembled in the Philippines.
                    ,
CS Series utilizes all Chinese components
                    ,
C and CM Series, we use a combination of key Japanese components along with other optical elements from China
They don't make it easy to determine what's what

Ya...I read your FAQ section. Confusing.

The delivery man just left me a few presents and I can confirm they are made in Japan.

I like them. Bright glass, clean reticle and light weight. The tracking clicks are pronounced (yet quite) but they feel a little loose. I would like a little more resistance to the turrets. But they are capped, so not an issue. The magnification ring has a nice "grippy" feel, and it needs it to overcome the resistance. Not overly tight but snug. And being a 1" tube the adjustment is limited. My application is hunting rifles so the minor "flaws" are not relevant to me.

I would recommend for a hunting gun, maybe not for a bench gun.
