I am asking for advice on high magnification scopes. Looking for 20X - 40X range for silhouette shooting. I prefer more modern designs which are crisp/clear at maximum magnification. My budget is $1000 max.

I would have said Weaver T-36 but that has been discontinued long ago.
Try the Sightron SII Target 36x42 BRD.
I'm surprised people are using that high of a magnification for silhouette.
