    NEW!! MeCanik M01 Red Dot

I have a Canik MC9 and after watching a few YT videos, decided to try out the MeCanik M01 red dot, since it's made for the gun and is supposed to come pretty close to zero, have good auto brightness adjustment, and cowitnesses w/ factory sights.

Does anyone have experience with this dot or the MeCanik M02?

Well the red dot arrived today, and I'm pretty impressed so far. Because it's made by Canik, it was a super easy direct mount to the pistol, and looks pretty close to zeroed from the factory. Also co-witnesses out of the box. Looking forward to getting it out to the range to see just how close it is.

I think these dots are about a year old, so tough to find much info on them, and I suppose why no replies here. Hopefully this can help someone in the future.

Caniks aren't on the roster. So asking Kalifornians isn't statistically the best option. Maybe ask on a national forum like ARF or Snipers Hide.

Although, now that you have one, you can tell everyone else your experiences and you'll be the one everyone else learns from.

I have the full size tp9sf love the gun I think that if that gun was on roster in ca it would get popular fast. I know a lot are happy with their purchases. Imo if 400 for mine which was a little high but it was in stock.

Might get an sc or the mc next for a ccw gun. I know some mc9 had issues but hear it’s solved on newer ones.

I don't think stores could keep them on the shelves. For a $400 gun, that's the same size as a P365 and has a better trigger, it's hard to beat. Hopefully the roster goes away soon!

            Update:

My first range trip with the MeCanik M01 I forgot the tool to adjust the dot. Out of the box, the dot was hitting about 4" low and 1.5-2" left. I made it back to the range (with the tool) and began to zero the optic.

There was a bit of guess work, as the windage and elevation adjustments don't have a tactile click when turning, so I just estimated how much to move it and then went back to the firing line. After my first adjustment, I was hitting centerline for windage and about 3" high for elevation.

One more adjustment and back to the line and I was hitting 1" groups on the bullseye at 10 yards. The cowitness puts the dot right on the front sight, so that is a quick way to get close to zero before the range, and then make the micro adjustments as needed.

All in all, a great optic specifically if you have a Canik pistol. For non Canik's I would still choose a Holosun as they are around the same price point. The only place where the MeCanik outperforms a Holosun is with the auto adjusting dot. Brightness is always perfect and it adjusts quickly to the ambient light surroundings.

Holosun has auto adjust, but it's useless (imo) - I turn it off...

Canik reminds me of CZ in the early 2000s... a quality, inexpensive, relatively underrated gun... it's yet to be seen if canik ends up with same fan fare as CZ

I've been meaning to get one while they're still inexpensive.

              Thanks for the info OP.
