Q: Which close to medium range optic?

Hi All,

After doing some reading on the forums, I'm in the market for a short to medium range optic for a flattop ar15. The versitilty to go from 1x-4x is super appealing to have a sorth of a "all-in-one" package (w/ my bad eyes).

I've seen some older posts on the leupold (mark 4's) and trijicon brands in the $800ish range and wanted to get your input on which model (and mount) you'd recommend and why.

Most of the time will be spent at the range, but would like to have the option of using it on varmints and such.

Burris XTR 1-4 is a great scope. Millet DMS 1-4 is also a good scope for the money. I have the Millet on my HD rifle and the Burris on my 3 gun set up.
