Pro and cons of Acog vs LPVO vs ? on Sig 716i

No specific use other than a what if...
I've read countless opinions on how the Acog on the 716i is such a great combination. I've never had any experience with a fixed 3.5. I have an LPVO on a another rifle. It seems like it would be a good fit here as well. Although, I'm new to optics and have little to no first hand knowledge.

I'd like to here peoples opinions on these options.

Edit... I thought I posted this in the optics section. Please move.

I dunno, but I've got an acog on my 10.5" 308 pistol just for fun. It's kind of ridiculous. I'd recommend against magnification on a pistol.

I have an acog ta11 on a 458S small frame AR upper and the main pro is that it?s built like a tank and I?m not worried about it breaking from falling down while leaning against a tree or anything like that

Combat rifle - LPVO, PCC - no magnification red dot, Long range rifle - traditional variable magnification scope. ACOG is a great combat sight, but it has limited versatility outside the battlefield.

Check out photos and videos of various competitive shooters and you'll see what gets you the best scores and performance.

A few years ago, I had a ta11 mounted on a Vepr 308 AK. I was reloading at the time and one of my 308 reloads was bad and over pressured from the bullet slipping down into the case when the round got chambered. Long story short, it blew the gun apart. The Acog went flying, landed about 25 yards from the firing line. It took me a while just to find it. Just a couple of marks on the finish. It was literally the only thing on the gun that survived. I?m still using it today. That really impressed me. For a SHTF/battle rifle, where you don?t have to baby your optic and where rapid target acquisition is paramount, not sure you could do better. For a range optic, where making small holes is the goal, there are better options (traditional high powered scope).

I have a TA31 ECOS and the only major downside for me is the short eye relief. I have it mounted right against the rear BUIS and I shoot nose to charging handle. The RMR on top of the ACOG fulfills the need for a 1x optic.

Acog is optimized for like 100 to 300 yard range, relatively light, and might be more robust than the rifle.

Good lpvo can be good from 0-500? (Guess it depends on rifle and scope quality)...but with a weight and robustness penalty. Fwiw, looks like US army moving to lpvos, away from red does and acogs
