Aimpoint Killflash on a ACOG TA33r-8 with a 30mm lens?

I now have a TA33r-8 ACOG which has a 30mm front lens and I do not want to pay $110 for a Trijicon Killflash unit. I know that Aimpoints are also 30mm lens, so I was wondering if they would fit. The ACOG does have threading inside the hood in front of the lens.

I just tried it. It kinda fits. The threads on the TA33 are not deep enough to get the threads started. The Aimpoint killflash extends about an 1/2 inch beyond the screen which hits the shoulder in the TA33. If you removed most of that plastic on the Aimpoint KF a few threads might start but it will not screw all the way in no matter what you do.

No problem. That 1/2 inch should read 1/8 inch.
