Thoughts regarding Meprolight Micro RDS Night Sight Kit

Okay. To begin I have a bias because I have one coming my way. My best understanding is as follows: It's a system that effectively mounts in an existing Glock slide. The rear side could be considered as a traditional sight that incorporates a mini-rail. The optic mounts on the mini-rail in the same way that rapid detach mounts work on a picatinny rail. That means you can either attach the red dot or remove it and use the pistol with normal iron sights. If you have a number of Glocks the potential advantage I see is the option to have one red dot that will work with all of them. Thoughts???

    Complexity introduces more failure points.

For pistols - I prefer to keep things simple.

Sits way too high and probably unlikely to handle some real abuse. The idea is nice but for a pistol, mill or buy a factory plate (like mos) upper.

All the yt vid “reviews” are your usual shills

Good if your dot curious but if doing more than picking up your gun off a bench standing static in the indoor ac cooled range punching paper at 7 yards…do it right the first time

That is a worthy point. It is also the reason why having a backup wheel gun is a good idea.
