    Leupold Deltapoint Micro Review

Those used to typical RMRs will probably hate the tiny sight picture of the Deltapoint Micro. But those of us who are still mostly iron sight users, this is a surprisingly easier transition for me. Probably because I colored in the dots and used the tiny tube as a ghost-ring sight.

Many folks will also balk at the price of $399. But considering a new RMR cut slide will cost about that much but then you'll still have to buy an RMR for it. So this may actually be the more cost-effective route.

For those compact or micro-compact CCW pistol, the Deltapoit Micro is the smallest, lowest profile RMR available. It is only a few millimeters taller than the original rear sight on a Glock. As such, it is likely far more comfortable to wear than any RMR.

My biggest pet peeve is that the designers at Leupold failed to take into account the height of the battery cap blocks you from removing your slide during normal disassembly. You must first remove the battery and cap from the Deltapoint to allow you enough clearance from the Glock’s receiver rail. If the battery cap was just 1mm or 2mm thinner, this wouldn’t be necessary. It seems like just a glaring mistake that should have been corrected prior to releasing this product.

There was a other user here who was an early adopter for this optic. He had some problems with it and wasn't too satisfied. Not sure if his was a fluke or the standard. Glad you seem to be enjoying it and have no issues. Also how many rounds do you have thru yours?

I won't buy one simply based on how it looks. It's hideous. It makes your gun look like it's taking a dump.

Hey if it’s a easier transition like you said go for it. Aaron Cowan said he thought of it as a gateway drug to red dots so maybe that’s it’s place.

I just got it, so just the box of 50 that I shot at the range to take this video. I'll update after a year or so living with it.

Mine failed (internals broke) after less than 10-rounds of factory ammo. Something you don't want to happen ever in something meant for defense, especially after just less than 10-rounds!

CalGuns.Net - I must be jinxed! New DeltaPoint Micro breaks in less than 10-rds

Plus, looking how it mounts to the dovetail - hhhmmm... does NOT inspire confidence.

It’s not so much that I balk at the price. It’s that I balk at leupolds products in terms of a rds. They make good scopes if over the $1300 price point and if moa is your thing. I would go holosun or Trijicon though.

It makes sense if your CCW is uncomfortable with a normal RMR.
