buying a mini scout sized light....

Any reason I shouldnt have to wait for a Surefire M340DFT?

The M340C is out there, and the Modlite PHLV2 is very appealing.

I kind want the dual fuel capability despite its compromises.

How important is dual fuel to you? I have lights that will take CR123s, and others that have rechargeable batteries. I feel having both would be ideal. This is my first light above Streamlight level. Kinda a big deal for me.

    Input appreciated.

Is this light for HD rifle/carbine use?

Duel fuel isn’t important to me at all, just have extra rechargeable batteries. They’re not that expensive unless you feel the need to buy the same batteries with a Modlite sticker on them for way more. I’ve had duel fuels and both had flickering problems when shooting. I now just have 3 modlites and a cloud defense light, if cloud defense just made their lights take Surefire type switches I would probably have more. Modlite rifle lights are awesome, was bummed with their pistol light. To me Surefire still reigns for pistol lights.

        Go with the modlite.
Also 18650 is more common battery to locate, due to vapers. The 18350 size is nice but it’s not a huge difference from the 650 overall weight size. Maybe if you running an sbr/pistol but I use an 11.5 and it’s a non issue.

Also get a nicer mount like the Arisaka or coming soon the overbore systems one, which should be fantastic.

Surefire pistol lights are better, and that new turbo model should be nice I hear. Waiting to see how the cloud defense pistol light does. Hopefully better than the modlite.

FYI skdtac.com has 15% off this week, good time to grab a modlite from them and a solid mount.

Speaking on mounts I just recently got a bobro Mlok mount that is awesome it has a ratcheting system kind of like a scalarworks mount but for Mlok. Makes it super convenient to switch a light to a different gun. Because Modlite set ups are not cheap.
