Include a cheek riser or else you're head is always out of position to the rds/scope du jour.

OEM stocks are great for the standard config. Adding anything else just makes her fat and and awkward IMO. I still run both of mine w/irons only.

Sold the one I had cheap years ago. The thing was pointing to the right. Its not the mount but the "Sprongfield" rifle its self. that rifle will remain irons only.
I have the ARMS18 mount but that's on a LRB rifle.


Its been years I believe it was Sadlak that sold a kit that you use to measure the run out in your receiver and they would custom make a mount for your rifle.

ARMS 18 mount is not junk. It is solid. The only problem is SA receivers are not made to the original Springfield Armory dimensions. You have to grind the radius on the inside of the mount to get the required clearance from the receiver.

Nightforce

I'm running a nightforce 5X 22 X 56 with the Smith enterprise scope mount So, I must have a good receiver because I have never had a problem with getting 10's and X's at 200 yards. I have it set out to 600 yards

But I like Springfield mount because I can still use iron sight.

For quick change between scope and irons use the
Basset scope mount and a Bradley strap on cheek riser.
I have one set up like this, works like a charm.
