    Loose red dot

    On my 365x.

Checked my Holosun 507 after zero, then again after 150 rounds for loose screws. It seemed tight.

Put 200 rounds through it yesterday and at the end of my session I was pulling shoots to the right by a few inches. Decided to hang out and dry fire for about 20 minutes and watched the dot flash to the right and back with each trigger pull.

I figured it was my execution, new pistol and all..checked this am, loose screws

I ask what solutions do I have, best to remedy now before I start carrying this one. The screws had a band of blue loctight on them, obviously not enough to keep them secure.

    TIA

Lock tite the threads, and mark the screw heads with a small line onto the optic with tamper seal or similar. If they loosen up you'll see it.

Use a torque wrench and tighten to the specified torque.

          Thanks, ordered the Vortex wrench.

Will check the torque weekly when cleaning my CCW and holster.

had this happen to me once on an AR. Used a fat wrench to get the right tq and then made a witness mark with a sharpie. Easier to tell if its come loose before I even shoot it.

Did you do the oil based sharpie trick and did you let everything set for 24 hours before use?

Yes, more like 48 hrs. Thank you!

I'm usually careful to only get a bit on the threads evenly but on small screws the bottle can dispense way too much and I have had to drill on a RMR because of too much blue.
