I have a Remington Model 700 SPS in 270 win.

i just got my hunting license for the first time, and plan on going for the first time this year. so im a little unaware of what the condition is of the the area.


besides hunting i would also like to use it for range shooting. 100-200 yards


i Have 550 for a scope, what should i get?

Since you're going to be carrying it for hunting stay away from all the tactical scopes. You don't need all the bells and whistles or the extra weight.

For mid range scopes I'm really starting to like the Burris Fullfield II line and of course Leupolds do well in the field.

Depending upon what your used to the 4-12X variable will let you use the 270 to it's potential but a 3-9X will also work fine. A duplex reticle is still one of the best hunting reticles around and an adjustable objective is also nice.
