    UTG isn't Chinese?

Professional R&D, manufacturing and marketing the shooting and hunting equipments

I have to apologize for ever calling UTG products "Cheap Chinese Junk" because actually they're not; well it's not CCP Mainland Chinese.

I just discovered they're a Taiwan ROC Chinese company. And if you don't know the difference, Taiwan is an island between China, the Philippines, and Japan and is what remains of the Republic of China (ROC) when they lost their civil-war against Mao and the Communists in the 1949. It's a separate country from "China" even though Beijing says it isn't.

And if you are against forced labor, communism, and the totalitarian government of China, then maybe you should exclude in that classification Taiwan companies, because they do stand against mainland China.

Regardless of politics, the Leapers/UTG products mounts, risers, and rings I've bought in the last 5 years are surprisingly well made. Way better than no-name CCP Chinesium rings made by Nc-Star, Feyachi, Westhunter, OHunt, etc.

Many of their hand guards and such are made in the US, and have been for many years.

I've used many Leapers//UTG products over the years and have yet to be disappointed. They're inexpensive, but punch way beyond their price point.

If you have Ruger 10/22 Takedown model and you want a compact scope that will FIT the Ruger bag that came with the rifle then UTG compact scope is the way to go.

there are some videos of a guy that compares similar products made in taiwan and china, taking them apart and looking at how they are assembled. while there are plenty of decent products made on the mainland, it does make a difference for many products.

the only butt pad I could find for my metal stock AK was a UTG and works good and adds the LOP I needed.

You are exactly right about Taiwan being the legitimate Republic of China and the commies who took over are not China, they are commies.

Why apologize? From my experience 15-20 years ago, Leaper's UTG products was insanely hit or miss..... mostly miss.

But time has changed. To show the industry dedication behind the company really tells you how much Leapers care about their products.
To give you guys a belief run down, David Ding, "the founder of Leapers Inc" is from Taiwan. He moved to Motown "Detroit, Michigan" and worked in the auto industries. Then founded Leapers Inc in 1992 in his garage selling optics. Fast forward 30 years, Leapers now have a +150,000 sq/ft manufacturing facility in Livonia Michigan as well as a large plant in Taiwan and China. All of their products are designed and made in house. And many of those products are made in USA with materials from the USA, no longer cheap Chinese junk.

Lastly, Leapers have a great warranty and customer service team! You'll speak to a live American from Livonia Michigan with no accent.

                          How is their customer service?

Is there even a warranty on the products? (if you buy off Amazon, your warranty is about 30 days (return period))

It might not be Chinisieum, but if you got a crappy one and it is out of return period, is it worth more than a ncstar?

I bought a UTG 2-7x32 pistol scope for my Sub2K. After a couple of months (well past the Amazon 30-day return period). I noticed that it had a small occlusion that most people would never have seen naked eye but it was visible in a photo I took with a mounted phone.

I emailed their customer support. They told me to ship it back and they shipped me a new one in a couple weeks. Easy peasy. This replacement scope has been on my Sub2K for 4 years now without issue.
