This thumb rest helps a little.

the fin thing is why i don't even own a lightweight AR, beside being too old to pretend i am still operator af anyway.

i decided to stick with a long range precision gas gun (scar 20s) where the fin grip and other restrictions have zero impact. i would run my thumb on the weak side on a thumb rest even if i didn't have to have the fin.

that said, i just got a 6lb semi-auto shotgun that makes me feel all spritely, lol

It's always bothered me when someone from the "featureless" camp here mocks someone on CGs for going fixed-mag in order to use a standard grip. They say that wanting a standard pistol grip is "all about looks". I've always maintained that it has nothing to do with looks. It's purely about ergonomics. These rifles were designed for a proper pistol grip. It's by far the superior way to handle them.

Unfortunately, CA DOJ doesn't want anyone here to own them at all. So they're making it very difficult for everyone. Making the rifles awkward to hold or inconvenient to operate (e.g., fixed-mag solutions).

          """BREAKING NEWS"""
All pupped rifles are heavy in the azz. Weight distribution goes toward the driver. Add more weight towards the other end helps but doesn't cure. 2lb anything on top and close to the eye will suck more.

I find it easier to use both hands on the pistol grip to pull the rifle into my shoulder and pin it there to take a shot. This way the fin grip becomes less troublesome to me. Weight distribution becomes less of a thang when using heavy glass with this method.

*KelTec RFB first gen 308 user. Fin gripped for years.
