Scope question for a pof 308

I have been doing research on scope. I want the Nightforce but can afford the tasco if you get my drift. I am looking at the SS 10x42 from swfa or the Mark AR from Leupold. I had the SS scope on a rem 700 bolt rifle I owned and sold with scope attached and it worked fine. I know the mark ar (stupid name) is for a .223 but I am going to site the rifle in for 200yds and use holdover/under for 100 and 300yards. I wont use the bdc. I suppose if cash becomes available I could always order a new bdc.

Any opinions on the 2 scopes listed or is there a better choice in the low 300 dollar range? The Mark AR is 1" VS the 30mm on the SS.

The glass on MarkAR is much cleaner than the SS.

MarkAR is just a Mark2/VX2 Tactical scope, it doesn't limit you only to 223. The only issue, would be .5 MOA adjustment on the elevation, but I think it is fine.

For my POF 308 rifle I got a Vortex Crossfire 6x24/50 from Liberty Optics here on the forum. $199 shipped, nothing fancy but its a good value for what it is.
