    red dot for MkIII- recommendations?

I got my wife a Ruger MkIII pistol last year and she's come to like the idea of having a red dot to make things easier for her.
50 yards would be a long shot for, and as long as it's good inside of 20yd she'd be fine. She doesn't want to spend a whole lot on one, but doesn't want to end up with a POS either. Most of the inexpensive one's I've found have had mixed reviews. What do you think would give her the best bang for the buck?

Small, light, effective. TruGlo holo sight. Makes a world of difference.

Midway sells the Mark III rails too.

        Thanks guys for the tips.
The Udot is a little out of the price range for this endeavor, but we found a bushnell red dot for $55 and will be picking up the TruGlo unit as well, found one in stock for $60. This way she can try both styles and see which she prefers. And I'll just have to speed up my plans to get a s&w 617 to put the other one on .

Incidentally, there were some other versions similar to the truglo sight that looked to be made of the same components. Think they're chinese knockoffs? or just rebranded by whoever makes them for truglo?

And another 'no brand' unit, for airsoft perhaps?

TruGlo is definitely made in China. Mine came with stickers that said so. Wouldn't surprise me at all that the others are Chinese knockoffs of the same sight.

There's a good chance all those sights are made by the same company, with minor differences in specs.

The T1 look-alikes sold by Konus and Primary Arms for $80-90 are the same sight from the same manufacturer as the Sig that sells for $150-200. There are slight differences in the mounts and details, but the internals are the same.
