I've had a Millett SP1 red dot for several years on a Ruger PC9 9mm carbine. Since day one, I've been able to put about a dozen rounds through it before the red dot stops working. I let the SP1 "rest" and it usually fires back up after a few hours.
I enjoy shooting the PC9 with iron sights so I haven't gotten off my arse to do anything about the Millett. But now I'm thinking of trying it on a AR22 and realize I don't want to spend the money on the required mount if the scope isn't working correctly.
Is there anything I can look for or try to see if I can get it to last longer than 12 rounds?
What might be causing the red dot to shot off in the first place?
Thanks.
